Meeting with Vanuatu Prime Minister Salvi

    Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vanuatu 42 years ago, the friendship between the two countries has remained strong, and they have always firmly supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests. China attaches great importance to the development of China Vanuatu relations, and is willing to continue to deepen high-level political mutual trust with the Vanuatu side, jointly build the "the Belt and Road" with high quality, deepen all-weather and all-round friendly cooperation, and work together to build a community of common destiny between China and Vanuatu in the new era. China is willing to exchange experience in governance and administration of state affairs with Vanuatu, share development opportunities for Chinese path to modernization, strengthen the docking of development strategies, deepen practical cooperation in infrastructure, economic and trade investment, tackling climate change and other fields, and encourage Chinese enterprises to invest and cooperate in Vanuatu. China will continue to provide economic and technological assistance to Vanuatu without any political conditions attached, helping Vanuatu to embark on a path of development and prosperity.

  China is a promoter and contributor to peaceful coexistence and common development in the Pacific island region. China's vote in the United Nations will always belong to developing countries. China views and values its relations with Pacific island countries from the perspective of promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, and is willing to continue to provide assistance within its capabilities for the economic and social development and improvement of people's livelihoods of island countries, and support them in accelerating the achievement of their independent and sustainable development goals.

Salvi stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vanuatu and China 42 years ago, the relationship between the two countries has maintained good and strong development.   Wafang expresses deep admiration.   China adheres to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and treats small countries like Vanuatu equally, fully reflecting equality and respect.   The Wa side hopes to learn from China's experience in governing the country, strengthen the alignment of development strategies with China, and promote practical cooperation in infrastructure, economy and trade. Vanuatu is willing to closely cooperate with China in international multilateral cooperation and promote the construction of a community with a shared future between Vanuatu and China.

Both sides issued a Joint Statement between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Vanuatu, agreeing to upgrade the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and build a community with a shared future for China and Vanuatu in the new era.
